Dehradun. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat participated in the ‘Shri Ram Katha’ being organized in the context of environment conservation on the occasion of 67th birthday of Swami Chidanand Saraswati at Parmarath Niketan, Rishikesh on Sunday. Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat congratulated Swami Chidanand Saraswati on his birthday and prayed for his long and healthy life.
Speaking at the function organized on the occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat appealed to the devotees who had come from different fields to give their support for the cleanliness of Ganga river. He praised the efforts of Parmarath Niketan in environment conservation, greenery and ‘Swattach Bharat Mission’. He said that Parmarath Niketan has planted saplings of different species to conserve Rispana River which is a commendable work. He appealed to the people to make the flow of Ganga clean and uninterrupted by checking the flow of sewers in it, stop throwing garbage and plastic and other unwanted things in the river. Swami Chidanand Saraswati presented a ‘Rudraksh’ sapling and ‘Gangajal’ to the Chief Minister on the occasion.
Satpal Singh, Union Minister of state for Union Human Resource, Uttarakhand Urban Development Minister Madan Kaushik, Acharya Balkrishan from Patanjali Sansthan, Jathedar Patna Sahib Gurdwara Giani Iqbal Singh, religious leaders of other communities and devotees from California, Japan, China, Tibet and other countries were present.
